The staff at the tourist office represent many aspects of tourism in Svendborg. Besides functioning as the town’s tourist office, we help organise many of the town’s events as part of SvendborgEvent. We are also part of Maritimt Center Danmark, which serves as the booking agency for the town’s impressive old wooden ships. And finally, we perform secretarial functions for the organisations  Svendborg Shopping and Svendborg Turistforening.

Since we cover a wide range of tourism-related functions, you can visit the tourist office to:

• Get information about the many things to do in Svendborg and the archipelago, whether you arrive by sea, road, or rail
• Pick up maps, leaflets, and ferry timetables
• Find out more about the many events in town
• Buy tickets for concerts, events, and trips on the wooden ships
• Learn about the maritime history of the Svendborg region and the work that is put in to preserve the old wooden ships
• Check out a selection of local specialties and get inspiration for a visit to the region’s farm shops

Environmental efforts

Visit Svendborg has been certified with Green Tourism Organization in the summer of 2023.

This means that the place take responsibility for the impact they may have on the environment, the planet and local life. This means that Visit Svendborg sets requirements for their cleaning products and purchases, follows consumption of water, electricity and heat and minimizes it where they can.

Funen is called the cycling island because of the 1200 km of signposted cycle routes in the beautiful and versatile landscape. Visit the well-preserved market towns, the 123 castles and manor houses and be tempted by local food and sublime restaurants - all surrounded by a sea of 100 islands.

Odense is filled with beautiful parks, romantic gardens and recreational areas such as outdoor fitness playgrounds.

On Funen you get good ingredients, meat from happy animals, locally brewed beer and wine, characteristic cheeses and exquisite specialties that can be enjoyed on one of the culinary routes or on one of the cozy food markets.

In addition to Odense, which is Funen's largest city, you will find cozy towns such as Svendborg, Nyborg, Kerteminde, Bogense and Middelfart.
